The Runway To Hope Spring Fashion Soiree is Runway To Hope’s signature event of the year. This year’s event was hosted by TV personality, actor, author and dancer, Mario Lopez, and co-hosted by Miss USA 2011, Alyssa Campanella.
Over 1,200 guests gathered for dinner featuring cuisine from the extraordinary Waldorf Astoria Orlando, and fabulous live and silent auctions. The highlight of the evening was a special fashion show featuring more than 60 incredible and brave children, ages 2 to 18, all who are currently battling or have overcome their cancer. Modeling much more than clothing, these courageous children made their fashion debut arm in arm with one of our dozens of national and local celebrity escorts as they show off the truest beauty of all – their unwavering spirits. The Runway To Hope Spring Fashion Soiree is a celebration of these children and their incomparable strength and courage.
The Runway To Hope Spring Fashion Soiree has been named “Best Charity Event,” and ranks as the tenth largest fundraising event in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal. In addition, the Association of Fundraising Professionals honored Runway To Hope at National Philanthropy Day 2011 with the Award for Excellence in Fundraising by a Nonprofit Organization.

Funds raised by the Runway To Hope Spring Fashion Soiree 2012 are specifically earmarked to the pediatric oncology units at both Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Florida Hospital for Children where the greatest immediate needs are identified and will contribute towards Runway To Hope’s pledge of $1 million to each hospital. These pledges will fund Central Florida’s first-ever pediatric neuro-oncology program at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children as well as Florida Hospital for Children’s pediatric bone marrow transplant program.
Guests were inspired and touched by the outpouring of community support. Participation by both pediatric hospitals and personalities and involvement from all local media outlets truly made this a resounding and unparalleled community event. When it comes to helping these amazing children and their families, we are all joined in this important common cause.
