Snowball Express 2012

Our Mission:
Honor America’s fallen military service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice since 9/11 by humbly serving the families they left behind. Champion their children’s future success by creating opportunities for joy, friendship, and communal healing, by connecting these families to one another.

Snowball Express serves the children of our fallen military heroes. In December of 2012 nearly 1,700 children and their surviving parent or guardian gathered in Dallas, TX from around the world for a four day all expenses paid event honoring these families of our fallen heroes.

American Airlines, our Presenting Sponsor made it possible to bring these families together. AA donated nine airplanes and flew across the country to pick up the families and bring them to Dallas/Fort Worth. The Sheraton Dallas Hotel donated several hundred hotel rooms and all of our convention space. Three floors were filled with age specific activities supported by E&J Gallo, Chili’s, Dr. Pepper/Snapple, Game Stop, Pepsi, Rent-A-Center, and numerous additional sponsors and volunteers. Neiman Marcus also donated a room filled with gifts where each child was able to select and surprise their mom with a very special Christmas gift and hand made card. YUM Brands donated meals for every family member and volunteer from Pizza Hut and KFC. The families enjoyed the Dallas Children’s Parade, Six Flags Over Texas, a huge Fort Worth welcome event, and day at the Stockyards with a spectacular concert by Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band at the worlds largest honky tonk, Billy Bob’s!

Thanks to the Texas Music Project and Linda Septien Entertainment, our kids had an opportunity to work with some professional entertainers and talent coaches and they then performed live to a full house at the historic Majestic Theatre. David Hira and his amazing cast of entertainers produced a grand finale “Variety Show Extreme” that our kids will remember forever.

Presidential style motorcycle escorts to honor these special families were provided by the Dallas Police Department and the Patriot Guard Riders. Thank you to American Airlines, The Airpower Foundation, 31 Heroes Project, Neiman Marcus, Sheraton Dallas Hotel, the USO, and all of the sponsors and hundreds of volunteers who make Snowball Express possible. Please visit snowballexpress.org for more information, and to make a donation. We thank you for your support!
